| DeKalb County Domestic Violence Task Force (DK DVTF)
The Dekalb County Domestic Violence Task Force (DKDVTF) is a not-for-profit that was established in the 1980s by Deborah McDorman, who was the coordinator of the Victim/Witness Assistance Program in the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office, along with criminal justice professionals and representatives from community advocacy organizations. Its mission is to create safer communities through education and advocacy across all disciplines of faith, ethnicity, sexual orientation and ability. The DKDVTF meets quarterly.
2011 Meeting Dates:
August 19
October 21 – Presentation of the Deborah C. McDorman Flame Award, which was created to honor the memory of Ms. McDorman and her commitment to victims of crime. Award recipients are recognized for their efforts to end domestic violence by demonstrating leadership, character/ethics, innovation/creativity, and accomplishment.
